AI-enabled enforcement camera designed to detect mobile phone use and seatbelt offences while driving. Uses high-resolution cameras and artificial intelligence to analyse images of vehicle interiors.

Documented capabilities

Captures images through the windscreen of passing vehicles. AI software analyses images to detect drivers holding mobile phones or not wearing seatbelts. Operates in all weather and lighting conditions. Can process thousands of vehicles per hour. Flagged images are reviewed by a human operator before any enforcement action.

Gantries or tall poles overlooking carriageways, angled to capture the interior of passing vehicles through the windscreen. Currently deployed in limited pilot locations.
